Garden sculptures have been used to decorate homes and gardens ever since this form of art was firstly developed. Some of the earliest sculptures were known to be made out of clay and chiselled rock. As the newer mediums of art were developed, there were garden statues made out of bronze, marble and granite. The prolonged labour intensive process made these sculptures to be highly expensive and most homeowners could not afford it. However, in the recent times, there are less expensive options available which tend to present the same glamour to your garden space.

Cement garden sculptures are fairly affordable and can effectively enhance your existing garden d้cor. Quite a few people also place mini cement statues inside the home. Cement is one of the easily available materials and can be re-used with some of the simplest moulding techniques. In order to make a sculpture out of cement, the artist would need to create a prototype of that statue in clay. This mould is then treated with resins, before pouring the cement. Once the cement has been hardened in the mould, it is separated from the clay mould. Rough edges or lines are then taken care of. These cement statues can be used as it is in the raw form or could be further painted in accordance to your preferences.
